Cappadocia
Uçhisar castle; the highest point to have magnificent Cappadocia View. It is just 5 km away from Göreme.
Göreme Open Air Museum; It is obviously the first sight to be visited by any traveler in Cappadocia which contains the finest of the rock-cut churches with beautiful frescoes (wall paintings) whose colors still retain all their freshness. Churches belong to the 10th century which presents a unique example of rock-hewn architecture and fresco technique. Göreme open-air museum has been in the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1984.
Avanos; known in roman time as Venessa. The history of Avanos goes back to Early age. It is famous for the pottery shops. You will have to watch traditional demonstration art here. The clay used in pottery demonstration gets from Kızılırmak (Red River) passing in the medium of town which is the second-longest river in Turkey.
Paşabağı (Monks) Valey: means General’s vineyard. Highly remarkable earth pillars can be seen here in the middle of the vineyard. Pasabag Valley contains some of the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia with twin and even triple rock caps. This style is unique even for Cappadocia and these fairy chimneys are named mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys.
Devrent Valley is 10 minutes' drive from göreme which has many different rock formations. Especially, animal-shaped rocks are famous can be seen here. It looks like a sculpture zoo by nature. You can see rock formations like camel, snake, seals dolphins ext.
Ürgüp Three Beauties and Love Valley; You will see the most famous rock formation of Cappadocia which can be seen on many postcards. It is also the symbol of Ürgüp district.
